The Man Inside

Project: “The Man Inside”
Director: Kurt Burk
Screenplay: Kurt Burk & W. Watts Biggers
Based on the 1968 novel by W. Watts Biggers

Something like (but not exactly like) a cross between “Candide” and James Purdy’s “Malcolm,” A young amnesiac leaves school, heads for New York, and marries a trollop. When his wife leaves him, Caro heads South, gets stranded in a small Kentucky town and there is taken in bondage by a sinister judge who owns the town and everybody in it. The judge uses Caro first as a teller in his bank, then as a gardener: finally he has him sealed into a big robot as a toy for his son. The end of Caro’s odyssey is offbeat and upbeat. A smoothly written fantasy with some really fantastic adventure. -Publisher’s Weekly (1968)

The Man Inside

Screenplay by W. Watts Biggers and Kurt Burk based on the 1968 novel by W. Watts Biggers.

Logline: ‘The Man Inside’ is a story of an orphan boy whose struggles lead him on a Kafkaesque pursuit of Purpose, the ceaseless quest for the meaning of life - always baffled by the cruel traps of mankind.

We shot the following teaser films in two-days as a test only. This feature film project has not been produced yet. The following short film clips demonstrate the style of the film.
